I was taking a break today and saw something with an image of Natalie Appleton.. as if she's famous. Yet I have no idea who this person is so I did the normal thing and did a google search (thinking IMDB would tell me more or something would jive my memory). I found some MTV thing and a wallpaper site.. so I click on the wall paper site.. and when I get to the bottom of the page I see this....

I thought it was hilarious... but didn't understand the why those two images somehow where liked by the same people... or maybe I just didn't understand what large breast and kittens have to do with each other. I know in a sort of aloof way that milk could be involved but that's about where it ends for me.

Which Lens to buy [Jan. 8th, 2006|06:45 am]
DSC_1544.jpg</a>

So I spent a lot of time and thought on this.. Just like I would on any purchase.. here's my train of thought and a post on/in flickr:

You all have me convinced.. I want to sell my kit:
I see it gos for around $300 on ebay

So say I come up with another $100 or $200

Now I have $500.. what would you get?

I want something comparable in numbers but obviously better quality... I wish that would pay for something that was 18-70 2.8 but I don't think it's likely.

Here's what I found at B & H for under $500 or close that would be an upgrade I think:

  • Nikon 28-70 2.8 $449 (w/ rebate)

  • Sigma 20-40 2.8 $479

  • Sigma 24-60 2.8 $379

  • Sigma 24-70 2.8 $399

  • Sigma 28-702.8 $309

  • ok.. although most are sigma.. I'm really going to miss the 18mm on the kit.. I've grown to love how wide it is.

which one would you choose (oh, and I'll miss any mm that the kit doesn't have but if it's noticeably faster I could live with it)

Dirty Love the review [Dec. 26th, 2005|07:28 am]
    DSC_1544.jpg

I didn't expect a lot in fact I heard you had to watch this because it was like driving past a train wreck. There was no shortness of rauncheness, vulgarity, and not so subtle sexual joking.

I liked it... I wish the dumb critics woulds say that at the begining of their interviews... I heard at least one critic blast this movie and I think I know why.. he was a man and problay had never had a new relationship in the modern age to truly understand this movie (otherwords old and married a long time, why would he review a truly modern date movie?). You also need to have some empathy for the female side of the race to undertand that some of the gags are really more to make light of what they go through. It's like that TV add for women's heigene products and at the end one of the women goes... "now I just want some salt!"... err, I got it but I don't think most men did. I listen to my girlfriend in an attempt to understand her needs, gauge her mood and try to make both our lievs better... but aparently this "salt thing" is some fairly universal need when your on your period... (i'm not sure but that's as far as I care to dwelve.)

    back to the film...

The beauty of the film is the way it pokes fun at life in LA and what women do.. not in a mean way but in a way as if to ask, What the fuck have we done to ourselves? Why do we let society (or men) tell us how to act? Why should they determine the lengths that we have to go to?

So... lots of laughs and as long as you know you may want to puke at a point or two it's a funny as well.

    a thumb up

oh and I'm mirroring this on my bloggspot account because I think I'll transition to that one some point soon.

In an effort to remove my self from the goverment watch list for Domestic Terrorism that I'm sure I've put myself on because of my criticism of "capitalism" and President Palpatein... err I mean Bush I want to talk about something just as serious but something I know that each and everyone of us can actualy do something about today!

Don't ever let anyone eat the Rubio's Lobster Casadia!... There I said it, .... hum no lighting bolt or black helicopters yet, ok I will continue. It's more like a ground meat than I think lobster should come and it definitely has a certain industrial chemical additive flavor that I'm affraid has either given me the worlds worst heart burn or is slowy eating my soul. Not to mention that it's soaked in a butter like greese that oozes from the casadia as if it was made from the cheapest of government cheese.

    in recape

Bush is lord of the Sith

and Rubios is trying to kill with crapy lobster...

Two more evils of the world exposed

    what's the point? [Sep. 1st, 2005|12:58 pm]
we are going in the wrong direction... if the rest of the human race emulates the american way we as a species are doomed...

our collective goals should not be to make more money to buy more things to have more than other people... how fucking meaningless

we should be working together to get to the next step.. enlightment? proprogate across the solar system!, hell raise everyones living standard!!...

we as a society are so short sighted we are killing our grand childern with every mile we drive our fucking gass guzling SUV

Our leaders are advoiding real problems by make issues of things that are symptoms to the way we live out lives now...

what to do.. what to do?

it's time for change and I don't mean elect on of the two dickheads that are going to be our choices in 2006

    we need a paradigm shift

I like the thought we are telling the watchers that we know we are being watched.. But what do we really do? So we take pics of there cameras while they get pictures of us. It doens't seem like a fair trade...

If this group starts some public discusion about the emerging surveillance society (or police state) that's good but what would be a better step?

Maybe finding out who is behind those cameras and what they do with the information.

If a camera films in a public area do we as the public have the right to know who owns, operates and utilizes that camera. Should we not have the right to see exactly what they can see?

I think in the end, is a society watched by a higher authority a better society and is it one that you want to live in?

I'm going to keep pics coming but I think I take the pictures with the goal of curbing apathay and finding my own answers... it may or may not work, who knows?

I'm not sure what we will be doing but since Chris seems to have art night at his house almost every night we could end up there with a bottle of wine and art supplies. Tomorrow we go to Mexico.. just because we woke up a little to late today and I want to get Jeff to go with us.. he's spent a grip load of time there filming his latest movie... and I hate going there but Camie must check-it out and I'll totally burn a crap load of pics in the process.
